Kiepe belt misalignment switches MRS are used in conveyor systems to monitor the belt misalignment of continuous conveyors in accordance with the requirements of EN 620. They protect the system from damage or destruction in the event of belt misalignment and are arranged in pairs on both sides on the upper or lower run in hazardous areas.The Kiepe belt misalignment switch type MRS conforms to the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU and UKCA conformity is available. The use of glass fiber reinforced plastic for the housing and stainless steel is particularly aimed at use in aggressive environments, such as potash and salt plants, seaports as well as urea, recycling and composting plants

The misalignment switch type MRS switches when the actuating roller is approached and deflected by the misaligned conveyor belt in the direction of rotation of the roller lever. The stainless steel roller lever (∅ 30 mm) is mounted on ball bearings, making it better able to absorb lateral forces and impacts.The switch has two fixed switching points for each deflection direction. As standard, the switches are manufactured with two switching elements with self-cleaning contacts.
